What is arthroscopy?
It is a keyhole surgery wherein your surgeon can look inside your knee using a camera. It helps not only to diagnose ligament, meniscus and cartilage damage but it also to treat the same where indicated. It is a day case surgery and takes approximately 30- 60 minutes. You shall require a general anaesthetic or regional and involves two little cuts at your knee.
Can I have my meniscus treated?

What are the risks & complications?
Your surgeon and anaesthetist should be able to discuss with you in detail about the risks and complications. However, some of the known complications though rare are; bleeding, infection, DVT (clots in the leg), PE (clots in the chest), nerve injury and stiffness.
